MVS users know IEBGENER is used to copy files. However, it can also be very slow compared to SYNCSORT. The good news is that SYNCSORT has ICEGENER. The JCL for this is similar to IEBGENER except that it is more efficient.

This is a follow up of my previous article Xubuntu 12.04. I managed to mess up my installation so I decided to upgrade the version I was using. I tried installing Linux Mint 14 in Xfce and found it was quite nicer to look at.

I had been using Linux since 1998. And it has certainly changed a lot since that time. It has become more robust and more user friendly. I had used it to write a couple of books and several presentation materials. I had been using Xubuntu 11.04 for a little more than a year and since I bought a 1.5 TB hard drive, I thought it is time to upgrade to a newer version.

One of the things I need to do in my job is read lots and lots of manuals. The good thing is these are all available on the web. So I download them and use them. The next time I want to use them, I go back and try to look for them again. the problem with this is I need to remember where I saved them first.
