Symptom: PL/1 program calls several common modules. Compile and Link are ok. Program runs ok if the common module was the only module but ABENDs if more than one common modules are specified. Retained only one common module and the program works but putting only the EXTERNAL ENTRY without calling the module causes S0C4.

Considerations for IT Service Continuity |
|
How do you go about determining or even starting an IT Service Continuity Plan? One of the difficulties of formulating a plan is to determine which applications are critical to your organization. The first place to begin is in your Service Level Agreements (SLA). Your SLA defines what is critical to your organization.

PL/1 DB2 Program ABEND S0C1 |
|
Symptom: PL/1 program accessing DB2 ABENDs with S0C1. Compile, Link and Bind were successful. Program ABENDs when moving some fields into the DB2 control variables. The code that does this was generated by the SQL Precompiler. When variables were removed from the program and only the SQL statement was left, the program executed without problems.

Incident and Problem: What is the Difference |

Right off the bat, I would like to say that I'm not advocating that everyone switch from Windows. I use Windows at work and have no problems with it. I have been using Linux for more than 10 years at home. It is not because I cannot afford to buy a copy of Windows, but it is because I find that Linux meets all of my computing requirements. I like playing with systems and Linux allows me to do that. I have learned web programming, Apache administration, SQL by playing with MySQL and PostgreSQL and network administration just by playing with my Linux system.
